Doncaster Town Junior Section

Doncaster
Town
have a thriving junior section, with well over 100 junior players and many different officials, from coaches to volunteers who help make junior cricket very enjoyable.
Doncaster Town Junior Section in 2011 had another successful season with all age groups achieving various successes with a number of junior players making their senior debuts. The club are very proud of Kathryn Hilditch who played for Yorkshire women's u13 side last season. At the annual award ceremony she won the batting award having the best average at all junior levels which included scoring her first century of 110 n.o. She also bagged the managers player of the year award for her overall performance on the pitch. The club is very proud of Kathryn and it is individual performances such as this that put DTCC's junior section up there with the best.
The step from junior to senior cricket can be a daunting experience for many which is why starting in the 2012 season Doncaster Town will have a 4th team on a Saturday. The idea of this team is to give more juniors the opportunity to play cricket at a senior level in order for them to develop their game, learn about team spirit and to have fun on a weekend!

Junior training takes place every Friday night (between April and September) at the club for all age groups between 6pm and 8pm. Winter nets usually take place from January through to March. For more details watch the website and the Doncaster Free Press for more information nearer the time.

Doncaster Town is a Clubmark Accredited club and as a result all coaches, managers and volunteers are CRB checked in accordance with the ECB guidelines for the development of junior cricket players.
